About the role

We need a highly motivated and experienced Development Manager with a track record of successfully managing multiple projects, who can facilitate complex negotiations with landowners. You will identity new acquisition opportunities, prepare, submit, and manage planning applications to multiple local authorities. You'll also deal with external contractors and stakeholders until projects reach construction stage.

The role will require you to develop a pipeline of renewable energy developments that Infinis can construct, own, and operate. This includes delivering community engagement initiatives, collaborating closely with the Community Relations Manager.

The successful candidate should be pro-active, solutions focused, able to work independently whilst being effective as part of a cross-functional development team. You will join a small, dedicated and specialist team, bringing additional skills and insight while benefiting from their experience and knowledge. In this hybrid position you will travel to sites across England, attend meetings at Head Office in Northampton and work from home.

Job outline 

  • Undertake planning feasibilities and to manage the preparation and submission of planning applications and subsequent discharge of planning conditions

  • Assist in the negotiation of property agreements, Options and Lease Agreements; Deed of Variations; Letters of Authority; Heads of Terms; Ancillary rights for access, services and cable routes for the development, construction, and operation of projects

  • Contribute to finding new development sites and opportunities by building and maintaining relationships with land finders and development partners

  • Manage the activity of specialist consultants, ecologists, planning consultants, and site finders  

  • Consult with external stakeholders, planning authorities, local communities, and landowners

  • Deliver against project programmes, managing timelines, providing regular and accurate input to the Programme Manager, escalating project related risks as appropriate

  • Lead and mentor others, ensuring workloads are managed effectively

  • Support the Head of Development in preparing reports for the Senior Management Team, Board and other stakeholders - providing regular written and verbal updates to the team and the wider business

  • Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement, identifying, and proposing innovative approaches, designs, technologies, or processes across the scope of the role

Is this job for you? 

  • You hold a degree level qualification or equivalent in an appropriate discipline   

  • You have excellent project management and delivery skills

  • You can demonstrate strong negotiating skills and effective communication both verbally and written

  • You have strong commercial awareness, with an ability to implement strategy

  • You hold a full UK driving licence
