About the role

As the Asset and Inventory Analyst, you will monitor stock nationwide to optimise availability, analyse demand trends, and forecast replenishment needs, directly supporting operational efficiency and preventing stockouts and overstock. By collaborating with finance, procurement, and regional management teams, you will share insights to drive continuous improvement and ensure stock levels meet maintenance needs.  

Using your strong analytical skills, you will take ownership of operational data in the Maximo asset management system. You’ll develop datasets, transform them into actionable strategies, and identify ways to improve operational efficiency and manage costs, requiring expertise in data manipulation and trend monitoring.

Location: As part of the Operations Performance team, this hybrid role requires you to work a minimum of 2 days a week at our Head Office in Northampton.  You must be able to travel occasional to sites across the UK, which may involve overnight stays to support inventory audits.

Job responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyse inventory levels across multiple locations to ensure optimal stock availability
  • Support logistics and planning teams in balancing inventory across multiple locations based on forecasted demand
  • Manage the assets, asset hierarchy and asset metering with Maximo
  • Develop and implement process improvements to streamline inventory accuracy, reduce costs, optimise inventory turnover rates, and improve stock availability
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to inventory shortages or excesses
  • Collaborate with the finance team to manage inventory budgets and forecasts
  • Facilitate and support of inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies
  • Prepare and present inventory reports to management supporting  the continuous improvement initiative within the asset and inventory team  
  • Develop and implement inventory control procedures and best practices
  • Ensure compliance with company inventory control procedures and audit requirements.

About you

  • Proficiency in Excel and data analysis is essential, enabling you to manipulate large datasets and develop actionable insights that improve inventory management
  • Ideally experienced in inventory analysis with a sharp eye for detail, a methodical approach,
  • Identify and suggest opportunities to improve efficiencies across our stock ownership and the confidence to challenge and improve how things are done
  • Experienced in analysing  large data sets and forming concise conclusions and actions from a commercial aspect
  • Full UK driving license with willingness to travel
