Infinis has energised its first battery storage project on brownfield land at Taylor Road, Manchester.
The completed site - located in Trafford Park – will store 24 megawatt hours (MWh) of energy.
Taylor Road was constructed with civil engineering contractor ANTS Group, electrical installation specialist Midlands Power Networks and battery supplier Trina Storage.
Dan Saitch, Infinis’ construction manager for solar and energy storage, said: “Electricity storage is vital to maintain grid stability and manage supply and demand efficiently.
“Taylor Road is our first operational battery site. This marks a key milestone for Infinis and sets a strong foundation for our future battery pipeline.”
Final site tests are now underway before commercial operation begins.
Infinis has already started work on two further projects in north-west England.
