Over the last quarter, Infinis team members have supported four regional volunteering events, in partnership with specialist consultancy Business Volunteers.

Our business encourages employees to devote time and skills to help make a difference in local communities. We run a regular programme of volunteering activity throughout the year.

From March to June 2023, team members supported the following good causes…

Special Needs Adventure Playground (SNAP)

This Cannock-based charity provides a specially designed indoor and outdoor play space and respite care for local families. Infinis team members completed practical tasks to help SNAP prepare its site for a busy year ahead.

Alive Charity

Alive delivers gardening projects across Bristol, as a therapy to stimulate the senses for people suffering from dementia. Our team helped to improve the green space of a local care home, built picnic tables for residents to use and constructed a new wooden compost storage area.

Westraven Community Garden

Westraven is a three-acre space in Peterborough, where people can learn about growing food and healthy eating and support environmental issues. The garden also supplies fresh produce to a local foodbank.

Our team helped to repair and make safe a large wooden natural art structure, nicknamed ‘Wood Henge’, ahead of its summer family events programme.

Pitsmoor Adventure Playground

Pitsmoor provides play, support, education and food to local children and their families at an outdoor play centre in Sheffield. The charity provides vital support to people without a safe outdoor living space, and those experiencing food poverty. Our team took part in carpentry and other practical tasks to prepare the site for summer activities.

Feedback

The volunteering generated some very positive feedback from organisations, including the following comments…

“I can't thank you enough. We're a small charity with so much to do on the site, and the help was very much appreciated. The tasks completed would have taken us weeks to do on our own. Thank you for giving your time and helping to make a difference.”

“We’re a small charity with limited resource and so much do to on the site. We rely on volunteers to help us… the children will be delighted with all the improvements you made for us.”

“"I can't thank you enough for what you all achieved in a day and choosing to give your time to help us.”

Team members also enjoyed taking part, and voiced how much they had benefited from their experience.

“It was a great challenge as a team to work on together. It’s such an important part of the garden to the charity and it was good to use our skills to rebuild the structure that will hopefully last for many more years.”

"I’m a fairly new starter and jumped at the chance to get involved when I saw the day advertised. It was great to meet some new colleagues and find out about the work of the charity. It was a very rewarding experience.”

“I enjoy these volunteering days. It feels good to know you’re doing something that helps make a small difference.”
