You will be responsible for the consent of development projects. That includes planning consents and land rights - such as leases, cable routes, freeholds and site access.
You will find sites and check their suitability for solar, battery storage or hydrogen development.
You'll build relationships with landowners, councils, communities and other people who are interested in development. There is a lot of liaison with internal and external contacts.
You will also manage external consultants to handle planning applications and environmental impact assessments.

Preferred experience

Town planning experience and a related qualification, such as the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI), is preferred. Or you might have renewable energy experience with a focus on planning.
Land management or surveying experience is a bonus.
A relevant accreditation - such as the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) or RTPI would be helpful.
You need to be a good problem-solver, and able to think on your feet.
